Storytelling is Like The Lean Startup

Like many founders, I read The Lean Startup years ago and it never really left my brain.

If you haven’t read the book, it lays out a simple framework for starting and growing a business:

  1. Build

  2. Measure

  3. Learn (Pivot or Progress)

But I actually go through the same process when designing each slide of a pitch deck, or really when designing anything.

  1. Build: Put a bunch of stuff on the page.

  2. Measure: Decide what message I want to shout loudest, squint at the page, and “measure” if that thing is shouting loudest.

  3. Learn (Pivot or Progress): Take things away that don’t add to the message. Enhance things that do.

If you’d like me to do this for your pitch deck, sign up for the 1-Week Pitch Deck, now booking for April.
